The Blog to Nowhere

I have about two dozen stories in various stages of completion on my laptop. I look at them every once in a while, and I smile. The longer a writer is involved in this business, the more people he knows and corresponds with, the more lost he can get.

Watching friends release books and post on social media, garner attention, and parade across stage juggling words can be entertaining and intimidating at the same time. My friends are good at what they do. They engage readers in an entertaining way, and the readers, their fans, respond. It's as if they've built virtual families. Being a new author, your family will feel small and insignificant, if not downright non-existent. While we all wish our true friends well, it's natural to ask, "Where's mine?" The answer is in the next story.
